News From Our Chairman
Dear World Flower
Council Presidents, Leaders and Members,
Soon we will be in
Riga with Ilze Daugule, Ilze Zagata and Anita Kramena, our three Host
Chairpersons. The summit plans are well in order and registration is moving
along.
We have responses from 16 countries to attend the summit and hope to hear
positively from ten more.
The Baltic area is a great place to visit, and Riga tops the list with
its charm, culture and Old City.
North America is doing a pre-tour to Lithuania and a post tour to Denmark,
if anyone is interested in joining us. Please contact Jenny for information
on the tours.
It's a pleasure to announce new members from Norway, Sweden and Venezuela.
We welcome new members into all of our existing country chapters. World
Flower Council continues to grow.
I recently went to japan and attended the Regional WFC event in Tokyo.
June Shishikura did a superb job of organizing the event. It was a world-class
gathering and Mr. Jinbo of Tokyo and Poo of Bangkok were most impressive
designers. WFC Members from several areas of Japan attended and members
and students displayed in two rooms at the Forum. Champagne, Hors D'oeuvres
and a buffet completed the day.
From Japan, I traveled to Jakarta, Indonesia to meet with Els Tiwar and
her committee for the WFC Summit 2005 in Jakarta and Bali. The Dates are
September 4-9 in Jakarta and then on to Bali for another Flower Exhibit
during Sepetmber 9-11. Plan now to attend this well planned event with
WFC Indonesia.
My best to each of you and see you in Riga.
With kindest
regards,
Dean White, AIFD,
PFCI, AAF
