Winter 2004 Spring 2004 Summer 2004 Fall 2004

Spring 2004 Newsletter

Dear World Flower Council Members,

Our three hostesses in Riga are reporting beautiful plans and arrangements that are being completed for our 21st Annual Summit in Riga, Latvia.

Several members are now inquiring and are ready to register for the summit. A summit registration sheet is enclosed in this newsletter, as well as an overview of the itinerary that you have previously received.

Ilze has advised that it is difficult to clear credit cards from our International members. Therefore, she has suggested sending a certified dollar check directly to her or her bank. There are charges for bank transfers, but the certified dollar check can be mailed directly to them without any charges. It takes 20 – 30 days for certified checks to clear and Ilze has suggested that she receive all pre-registrations prior to June 15th.

The summit registration is $400. The first night function, if you wish to attend the dinner, is an additional $25. You will also need to pay your WFC Membership Dues of $35 at registration, as well if not already paid for 2004. If you wish to clear credit cards for this, you can send the information to Jenny at Home Office, where she can clear your credit card with no problem. We can then transfer the money to Riga in one lump sum.

The Radisson SAS Daugava Hotel, our summit headquarters, may be reserved directly with the hotel or through Home Office, if necessary. Please find enclosed information on hotel registration.

The 21st Annual Summit will be a most delightful, inspiring and professional gathering. The facilities in Riga’s Old Town are charming and wonderful. I know we will have a great experience there.

Remember, if anyone wants to do the extension to St. Petersburg, Russia, any pre tours or post tours, please contact the Ilze’s or Jenny at Home Office.

News for 2005 – the 22nd Annual World Flower Council Summit will now be held in Jakarta, Indonesia with Els Tiwar and her group. The Australian Host Committee withdrew their plans for the 22nd Summit. I’m sure all of you will welcome the Indonesian summit, as Els Tiwar is well connected with government and tourism. The Ministers of Agriculture and Tourism have invited the World Flower Council Summit to Indonesia for our 2005 Summit. The event will take place in September 2005 and actual dates will be confirmed before Riga and Els Tiwar will announce the summit program while at the Riga Summit.

The Board of Directors, Summit Planning Committee, Jenny and I wish for you the greatest season and invite you to start planning now for Riga. You will be glad you did.

May we hear from you at Home Office concerning your numbers and plans for the summit.

With kindest regards,

Dean White, AIFD, PFCI, AAF

WFC International Chairman
