"Inspired by the Charm of Riga"

Dear WFC Delegates, Members and Flower Friends,


Only a short space of time remains until 19-22 of August, when our next World Flower Council Summit will be held in Riga, Latvia.


The organizational committee: Ilze Zagata, Anita Kramena and I have prepared exciting plentiful program with variety of cultural activities and flower design sessions. Of course this event would not be possible without the great involvement of other florists all over Latvia.


This year's Annual WFC Summit will be held together with International Flower Festival and in conjunction with Latvian Florist Competition. In addition to the above mentioned festivities also floral design exhibitions of Latvian florists, students and children will be organized and exhibited in the second largest park of Riga named in honour of Lady Vermanis who invested in the park development during 1812-1817.

Our Summit Hotel venue Radisson SAS Daugava is located close to other premises where WFC Summit events will be held. Hotel is located at the banks of the river Daugava and has the most beautiful view to Old Riga. The official date of the foundation of Riga is regarded as 1201. Even before that Riga was part of the famous "Viking road" to Greeze. Now Riga has received its international recognition for its unique architecture, and is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage. The Old town still has reflections of medieval architecture from as early as the 15h century and about forty percent of the central part of Riga is built in art Nouveau style. So - we hope you will not be able to resist seeing it all soon.

When you arrive in Riga, you will feel its creative spirit, and we hope you will wish to return again and again to this wonderful city.
